Endometriosis Management

What is Endometriosis?

Endometriosis is a medical condition that ten percent of women in the world deal with. Endometriosis is caused by tissue growing outside of the uterus. This tissue grows on and around reproductive organs including the ovaries and fallopian tubes, which can cause fertility issues. Having endometriosis causes periods and sometimes ovulation to be more painful. Here are some tips to help manage the pain of endometriosis.

Endometriosis Management Techniques

Home Remedies: Applying heat to your pelvic area using a heating pad or taking a warm bath can often mitigate the pain that is associated with endometriosis. It can also help to take more probiotics and prebiotics.

Diet: A less common remedy to help reduce pain for those suffering from endometriosis is changing what you eat. An effective endometriosis management technique is to reduce the amount of red meat, dairy, and fried foods you eat and replace that stuff with more fruit and vegetables.

Pain Relievers: Over-the-counter pain relievers are always an option to assist with endometriosis management. The only issue with this is that the relief is temporary, so you would have to take pain relievers consistently.

Hormonal Treatments: Taking an oral contraceptive will typically thin the lining of the uterus, which means less painful periods and a lesser chance of tissue building up outside of the uterus. Hormone treatments are a common medicine used for endometriosis management.
