Botox Products (ie. Botox, Dysport, Xeomin) are all Botulinum toxin injectables made from bacteria which “freezes” or relaxes the muscles underneath the skin. Cosmetically, Botox is used to reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles caused by facial expressions. The most common areas that are typically treated are forehead lines, bunny lines on the nose, lines around the lips and eyes.
Botox results are normally seen within a week or two of the treatment. There is no downtime associated with treatments. Full effects of Botox typically last for about 4 months. Additional maintenance treatments will be needed once the Botox wears off in order to achieve the desired results.
Dermal Fillers (ie… Restylane, Juvederm, Perlane) are compounds used to hydrate, plump and moisturize the skin. They contain ingredients that add fullness to areas that have thinned due to aging. The most common areas for Dermal Fillers include: cheeks, lips and areas around the mouth.
Dermal Filler results may last as long as Botox and in some cases up to a year. Additional maintenance treatments will be needed once the fillers wear off in order to achieve desired results.
Both Botox products and Dermal Fillers are considered cosmetic services and are not covered by insurance. Pricing will be subject to each individual needs and how much product will need to be used for each patient’s particular desired results.
